Facilitating Data Exchange between LCA Software involving the Data Documentation System SPINE

The study gives recommendations on common definitions, interpretations, and nomenclatures that can be used by LCA practitioners and system developers. The issues described in this report are the technical specifications of the data communication file, called XFR file, nomenclatures, and minor technicalities. However, the nomenclatures and the XFR specification are considered to be the most important outcome of this project. In addition, the project group has discussed how to continue this collaboration in the future, in order to achieve further harmonisation in the system development.
